WHAT IS TUSNI?
Tusni is derived from the Sanskrit word (तूष्णी), meaning quiet, still, or at rest. Born from a childhood dream and a deep-rooted connection to the heritage of Odisha, Tusni was created to bridge the gap between regional craft rhythms and a contemporary design lens—offering not just clothing, but a distinct state of being. Tusni is an invitation to slow down and experience clothing as a soulful art form. Moving at a thoughtful pace, the brand exists in a space of quiet intention, where every piece is a celebration of enduring heritage and deliberate craftsmanship. It is a dedication to meaningful craft, creating a sanctuary of design where every thread tells its own story and beauty is found in the details that outlive passing seasons. Built with slow intention, the brand carries the soft heritage of its roots into the modern wardrobe. To wear a Tusni is not simply to get dressed; it is to arrive somewhere calm inside yourself.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Tusni is an intentional pause—a space of quiet depth. We design for the woman who values her own quiet, interior world. A Tusni garment is an internal experience first—built for how it feels to be alone with your thoughts. It is meant to make you feel completely settled into who you already are.

OUR
AESTHETIC
Each Tusni piece begins as a hand-drawn botanical mark. A stem. A flower. A leaf pulled from memory or from the natural world. These drawings — with their slight irregularities, their organic edges — are what give every Tusni print its character. The proof of a person, carried into cloth. Laid over modern silhouettes in natural fabrics, they become garments that feel both grounded and quietly new. Tusni is for the woman with a rich interior life. Who dresses not to announce herself, but to feel completely, quietly, herself.

OUR VISION
Tusni is the brainchild of Smruti, a fashion designer whose creative life has always been drawn to the place where the handmade and the contemporary meet. Growing up between the quiet rhythms of Odisha and a modern design sensibility, she found a gap — not in clothing, but in feeling. Each collection is a meeting of modern silhouettes and hand-originated prints, drawn from the natural world, from memory, from the quiet geometries of Odishan craft. The pieces are made in small numbers, slowly and with care.
THE MAKING
Tusni works in natural fabrics — chanderi silk, cotton linen, silk organza, linen etc. Each print begins as a drawing, made by hand, before finding its way onto cloth. The pieces are made in small numbers, slowly and with care. Nothing here is in a hurry.
